Using a Free Anonymous Proxy List

Sep 30

Let’s say that you come into the office tomorrow morning and you find that your favorite websites have all been blocked. Facebook, MySpace, and YouTube are now all limits, thanks to an overzealous network administrator. How would you go about getting access to these sites? The answer to your problems is an anonymous proxy server.

But finding these proxy servers is not always easy, so you will need to find sites that contain lists of working proxies. Aliveproxy.com, publicproxyservers.com, proxyz.com, and proxy4free.com are all good sites to get started.

Once you have found some sites that have lists and that look satisfactory, you will have to configure your browser to be compatible with proxy servers. If you’re using Internet Explorer, click on “Tools”, then “LAN settings”, then “Advanced”. You have to enter the address of the server and the port into the space provided. Once this is done, click “Ok”, and you’re ready to go.

It must be mentioned that not all the proxies that are listed on sites work. This is the nature of the application – new ones go up every day, and old ones come down.
